ABOUT OUR NEW SINGLE – ‘OBVIOUS’
Electro/Pop outfit Future Fears are back with a new single, a bigger new sound and a brand new member, to boot. With Covid 19 putting a halt to their extensive gigging and festival appearances in 2020, the band refused to let this, along with other personal adversities, completely interrupt their artistic endeavours. Taking up once again with highly rated producer, Ray Traynor (The Script, Aslan), the band have now dubbed Traynor their unofficial fourth member – the addition of guitarist, Juan Manuel Flores, now making the Future Fears duo a three – piece outfit. The resulting collaboration is the single ‘Obvious’ which is set for release on October 16th.
Aside from Traynor’s trademark high-end production values, the single also features guest vocals and unmistakable bass lines from Aslan songwriter and all-round legend, Tony McGuiness.
Obvious traces the story of a woman trapped in a toxic relationship and at odds with her own failings. Suppressing her inner demons, our protagonist puts a brave public face on her daily struggles.
Traynor’s skillful touch on Obvious leaves ample space for the delicate harmonising vocals of David Duggan and Susan Ward to breathe amongst the sonic wash of blissful synths and haunting guitars. While your soul is touched by all this beauty, your feet can join the party – seduced onto the dance floor by McGuiness’s driving bass. It all makes for a compelling electro pop cocktail.
Future Fears consists of David Duggan (Bassist/Lead Vocals), Susan Ward (Keys/Synth Backing Vocals) Juan Manuel Flores (Guitarist). The bands influences span the last five Decades and include; The Beatles, David Bowie, Queen, Tears for Fears, Aslan, Toto and contemporary artists such as Foster the People, M83 and Jess Glynne to name a few.
